yeah, better food is what you'd ask for (and though they say they have gotten more healthy food, it doesn't taste that way to me :? )

at my school, there's quite a bit of a sellction, but it's just not all good for you and some of it's not really good at all (but people eat it anyway)

Students need to be more vocal on this issue. Not only is the food bad for studnet health, but it also lacks a vegetarian alternative. Our food also fails in comparison to school lunches in other developed countries such as France, Germany, and Japan.

I stood in front of the board last year to submit a short complaint regarding the lack of nutrition in school lunches. I failed to give a compelling argument, but more students will make them sweat bullets.

apparently, they just choose our school as one choosen for this knew thing their doing (along with a few more schools)

they're picking 20 students to stay after and try some different choices

I just got into highschool and found that instead of looking greasy but still tasting good like the middle school food did, it now has what I'd like to call 'hidden grease'

now, will looking not greasy at all, the food has a nasty aftertaste where the oil sticks to the top of my mouth :?

i understand what you mean but what other kinds of food do you want. There are alot of allegies out there and not a whole lot of healthy choices there. If it really gets that bad then take your lunch.

Another thing about school lunches is what about vegaterians..there arnt many choices for them besides to bring lunch but my family cant afford to buy food for lunch evryday and i get free lunch but no choices for my lifestyle the only choices i have is cheese pizza ((which is loaded with grease)) grilled cheese((burnt)) and thats it besides ocasionally they have lettuce and carrots out rarely so im stuck skipping((not literally ...i mean not eating)) lunch.

I think the school lunches should consider something like a half sub roll? with wheat bread and an assortment of meat and cheese combinations. Then have the packet mayonaise and mustard.

The school food, no matter how much they try, will never not look like it's come out of the deep fryer. I'm thankful they can't use lard anymore, but still.
I just stopped eating lunch all together. I never have the time to make it and neither do my parents, and I'm sure not going to eat something that's going to make me obese. I'm not sure If I said it before, but in 3rd grade my doctor said that I was chubby because I ate school food everyday.

As for a salad bar, I'm not sure if I would eat a school salad. There's just something in the thought of it that turns me off.

Also, towards the vegatarians, the school only has such a budget, and in the case, the vegatarian minority takes a back-seat in this situation (although I'm sure it's unintentional). What else could they provide as a substitute? *serious question*
