Gum

we should be able to chew gum in class because it would help us think more but it would leave a mess under the desks :) 1 peice a day  :eusanaughty:

Gum

we were allowed to but then the nutrition policy was passed and no school in the county can :(

Gum

just to let you know, the nutrition policy doesn't say you can't chew gum...you can't chew gum because it is sometimes a distraction and it does leave a mess...don't worry when you get to high school you can chew gum

Gum

:eusadancing: Really? Woohoo!

Gum

I don't know. I'm not allowed to chew gum in almost all of my classes.
One of my teachers even lower grades for chewing gum. I personally sometimes need to chew gum because having something to do is the only thing that can keep me awake first period, but I have to agree that sometimes it can be a distraction/annoyance

Gum

that would help alot

yeah, I remember the whole gum chewing thing

I loved it
And it really does help you think (exercizes muscles -> more blood is pumped to brain)

Gum

some mints like lifesavor mints actually make your brain like pump. we should be able to use them because they help us with tests. when i was in elementary my teachers would always give us a mint before the MSA or other big tests. it helped alot. because i got advanced every time :]

Gum

my teacher last year did something like that (jolly rachers 8) )

Gum

That is true, but then it is really gross when it is left on school property, and someone has to clean it off. Is it worth the extra work for janitors and the annoyance for students?

Gum

that's true
it's gross to find it under your desk just because someone's to lazy to get up and throw it away

Re: Gum

In my school ( George Fox ) it's up to the teachers , some don't mind , but if you chew it like a cow , or blow bubbles , they make you spit it out .

I think that if you only chew you gum for one period , and throw it out as you leave the classroom , not before , then the teachers wouldn't have to worry about it being around the classroom , and it wouldn't be an inconvience to anyone .
