ohh i kno, i have the longest driveway and i always slip back down it when i have to climb up it again, and we live on a backroad which are the last to get plowed so they always get icy fast...last year a bus flipped over up the hill to our neighborhood. its crazy!

where i live we always get more snow than annapolis. THey do send people otuin the mornig to check the conditions but sometimes is don't thinks they go everywhere.

i think our Board is very carefull (sensitive) on what days to delay/take off. We hear these types of reports all the time, where one part of the county is better/worse off than another part. And i would think they'd send "viewers"-if you will, to the worser parts of the county. Im sure they base their ruling on large public roads rather than smaller ones/personal driveways. And again...

:arrow:...They are very sensitive to the idea of even one child getting harmed because of bad weather.

Yeah there was a news piece about the people who go out a couple of years ago.

personally i think the board is totally wrong on some of there decisions on snow delays and closures. Some days that we are closed, I think that we should of gone, because it was a [b]slight[/b] fog in South county! And then when I can't get two feet into my driveway with out being two feet deep in snow! The road in front of my house is a dead end and doesn't get plowed at all! The main roads are fine and we ahve a two hour delay and my whole driveway is covered!

There are some differences in weather in Anne arundel COunty. Where I live there is always more snow than in neigboring areas. That is something that is going to happen sometimes.

I understand because I try to go down my driveway and it isn't very long and I have trouble. It seems that the days we get off it is unnecessary for us to be missing school. But then the days that we should be off we are going to school. Last year our bus almost hit a tree leaving my community. I doubt that is very safe.

Last year, when my mom was taking me to school because the bus just decided not to come, we almost fell of off the side of the road into the Severn River (there were no guide rails) because it was so icy. I wll never forget the terror of when my mom couldn't stop the car from slowly sliding down the hill. Luckily, my mom quickly called a nearby neighbor and she came and helped my mom with stopping the car.

I really don't think that situation should have happened at all. I'm not blaming the board, but the bus driver. My mom and I should not have been put in jeopardy just because the bus driver decided not to come.

At least the snow is not a problem anymore but soon the heat will be.

I live up in New England and it gets so cold that sometimes we can't go to school because ppl willl get frost bite standing out side waiting for the bus. One time it waz like 2 below zero. Obviously i get a lot of snow up here so they only cancel school if it's so bad that you''ll fall from walking on the road. If they cancel school for everytime it snowed hard i'd have about 20 extra days of school at the end of the year.
