Racism
how come racism still happens to this day?
im black n i get called the "N" word some tymes n i really dont like it and i really cant do any thang bout it b.c wat can they do its just gonna happen again and the ppl thet called me da "N" word would pick on me about tellin n it prolly wont stop even then so if u have problems in ur skool w. racism wat do u do bout it?

Racism
I am sorry that happened to you, first of all, that is completely wrong!Second, I know I can't say this personally cause i'm white, but I don't think it is a big problem! I go to Corkran middle school(feeder to GBHS) and my school has problems but not racism! Do you see this problem anywhere else in your school?
Racism
I'm sorry that someone decided to use the N word just because of the difference of your skin color! That is not right :!: African Americans don't deserve to be treated differently, thought of differently, or be called unjust words. So what if your skin color is darker that shouldn't make a difference. Imagine this you and tons of other people including Asian,Caucasian, and African Americans are all blind folded... If you just would interact with each other when you cannot see the color of another persons skin then there would be not racism conflicts. I understand that Racism is a problem and I believe that if we all come together then we can figure out a way to put an end to all of this nonsense! I for one do not treat African Americans any differently than i treat white people.
Racism
I feel that whoever did this to you deserves to be punished because that is just not right and if you continue to have this problem then go to higher athourity and i go to corkran 2 we don't have this problem that student should be delt with immediatly( might of spelled it wrong) don't be afraid to tell
Racism
Being African American myself I can see where you're coming from. I'm a SENIOR @ SHS :D and racism is still a huge problem there. As much as the administration tries to cover it up a majority of their decisions are based on race. More than 1/2 of the things presented in life will require a person to state the race and consequently the decision will be determined from that. Personally I'm sorry that you were called that name but some people are refusing to accept change, until then keep doing what you do and don't worry about it.
Racism
Other than being called the "N" word is there any where else you see racism? If so can you give me an example? The person that called you the N word has problems if they actually meant it, and weren't messing around! If they were messing around they should find it in their hearts to apoligize!
woah
you most definately had a right to tell! annd then they made fun of you for that? maybe you could talk to your administrators/guidance couselers about some type of diversity workshops...? just a thought.
Racism
Racism is a problem in our school we just have to face that fact. There needs to be somthing more done about it that is another fact. There are always going to be ignorant people out there who just won't change but I think we need to take the step to curtailing these incidents by making more people culturally aware.
RACISM
Racism still exist because ppls personal encouters with others. For example, if someone comes in contact with "black thugs" all the time, they may think all blacks behave that way. Im a black person myself and dont live that lifestyle.
 The reason we don't live by Dr. King's Dream (100%) is because of stereotypes pple lable others
Racism
Racism is also influneced by the media, in news stories the suspect are black, movies the thugs, killers, drug dealers, Project residents, are black. It also has to do with the culture music, clothes, language that others may find imtimidating or just don't like.
Racism
Well, at Severna Park High School, I try my best to be equal to everyone...even though that favor isn't always returned to me. Sometimes...I feel (even though I am Caucasian) that I am being discriminated against because of my skin color. I have friends that are African American, and one time I tried to sit with one of them at lunch, and all of her other friends cursed me out when I tried to sit down at their table. Then later, in the hallway, I passed by their group and they were staring me down and were saying things like, "Ooo, there's that white girl, are we gonna have a fight?" all things like that. I got really scared, because I am a really good kid that never gets in fights. I just wish that I could sit with my friends at lunch without being cursed at. :?
Racism
How many times has that happened to you. While I don't agree with what the lids at the table did try walking in their shoes. You may find it to be a little more difficult than expected. I know from personal expirence.
Racism
Well, when I was at my other school in Silver Spring, MD, I was the minority, ok? But did I discriminate? Almost all of my friends were African American. So, I don't get why the African Americans in Anne Arundel can't do what I did in Silver Spring.
Racism
It is not the same here. In Anne Arundel county we are the minority.
Racism
But isn't the same thing? When I was in Silver Spring, I think that only 15% of the population at the time was Caucasian. But did I care? No. I went and made friends with tons of other people. It was really funny, because one day they tried to teach me to step, and I was really bad, and we couldn't stop laughing because I was really really bad.
Why can't the people who are the minority do the same thing as I did when I was a minority?
Racism
Were you mistreated your entire life. Its one thing to be a minority in the school but for life that is different.
Racism
Personally I see some antisemitism on the rise not in public schools but in private schools. In privte schools I think, interaction between the races is at a minimum. There are unfortuanetly very few African-americans in private education, so racism is allowed by the majority of students.
Racism
Where I live there's no such thing as rascism. Like everyone respects what culture they r, cause most ppl r hispanic or african american so if anyone waz rascist pll would automaticallygang up on them cause where i come from thats just not cool.
Racism
I agree cuz
Racism
wow
(sounds wierd) my grandmother was rather racist
and I hated it
There was this kid on my bus that called someone a N infront of the teacher and he got suspended for 2 days
So our school isn't that bad on it

yes racism is a big problem but it is not just mainly against black people i am a young African American and when i am in class people talk about jewish people like they are meaningless and i think it is wrong because my best friend is a jew and i always step up and say something but if it consistent to u i think that u need to talk to your principal or ur gidance councler about the issue.
