So, has anybody ever noticed that Band, Orchestra, and Dnace don't ever get much attention or support from the administration and staff?
We do a lot for the schoold and are hardly ever noticed. There's no student support. I 'm always hearing about how 'bad' our band and Orchestra sounds. When the trueth is that for an almost 15 people concert band, we sound better than many band s that are larger. Now I'm not trying to start an arguement over who sounds better, I'm just trying to explain how horrible our support is.
The other day out principal finally reconized us as a school group and had an assembly for a holiday concert. The staff and administration have found respect for us, but the students are still lacking in support.
We need to encourage students to think positively about these groups, even if they do sound bad, beacuse the support could make all the difference. Even if your not in band or Orchestra or Dance don't be afraid to correct people when they 'dis' thse groups. We are leaders thats what we are suppose to do, help our fellow students and support them.
