keep science and social studies all year rotating every-other-day classes
1) This schedule is being changed--again--simply because it decreases teacher workload, with no consideration to how harmful it is to students.
2) It completely messes up testing, either requiring taking the test months after the class, or taking the test when you're in the middle of learning the material
3) You could easily go a year without any instruction in these subjects
4) You will have to cram your study into a semester--and you learn more when you spread learning out. Retaining knowledge is important when you are building the basics for high school and beyond
5) This sends the message that the school system does not consider these subjects as important as others--which is quite harmful in an age when we are trying so hard to inspire students to become interested in science and school.
6) Schools should be organized around learning, not around teacher workload inequity!
After all the time and effort students, parents, teachers, and principals have put into finding a better schedule over the past 7 years, a change finally comes in middle school schedules-- and this is all we get! Don't let this happen without a fight!
