Future of CRASC...

Where is CRASC going: Nowhere.
Why: There is no newly elected President.
Reason: A certain board member persuaded all delegates at the CRASC Officers’ Elections, held at Southern High School on Wednesday, April 16, 2008, to not vote for any candidate running for the position of CRASC President. At this general assembly, all the officers were supposed to have been elected in order to become prepared for the upcoming year. Sadly though, no conclusion was made and delegates and newly elected officers alike were frazzled by this complex situation. I will list the following cons of not having a newly elected President:
 There would be no definite leader to help facilitate the organization, CRASC, because the President would assume these roles.
 Without having a President, they cannot present a plan of activities for the year at the Executive Board retreat.
 Without a President, no one can oversee the revision of the CRASC platform.
The final result: A weak CRASC that doesn’t have a central leader and no definition on who will accomplish all of the President’s duties, defined in the CRASC Constitution.

Re: Future of CRASC...

Would not the same have been accomplished if we just elected a weak leader? I agree with you in that we need a leader, but we need an experienced leader, I was not persuaded by other crasc members but placed my vote of no confidence on my own accord.

Re: Future of CRASC...

I'm not trying to be mean to your judgement, lauren, but the situation that CRASC is in now isn't good at all.
For one thing, they have probably looked over the Consitution a million times to find a loophole, but there isn't one.
Second off, it's better to have a bad President than no President because you can impeach them later by the Consitution.

Re: Future of CRASC...

Good point, I'm relatively new to crasc and so I don't know that much about its constitution, do you know if anything recent has been done with the situation, or will it be dealt with just at the start of next year?

Re: Future of CRASC...

Well, the officer team met and chose a President out of two applicants by having an interview process. They chose Sara Fisher to become the new President for the 2008-2009 school year.
