safety at schools

anyone has this same problem but my friends and i do. we got nominated for the IB program at annapolis high for next year ans because of the violence at that high school our parents might not let us go. i dont think its fair for safety at schools to limit our education because our parents shouldnt have to worry about if we r going to b shot or not! does n e one else have this problem and how do u feel about it?!

My friend at Southern is doing it too

And I'm worried about that

Also, alot of my friends are thinking about doing it and... well, it kind of worries me

The security problems in Annapolis are reflective of the same problems here in SPHS. Essentially, they have the same stuff we got in defending the student body.

As for your parents, you need to inform them that the risk of injury upon an Annapolis HS student is much lower than the usual assumptions about city schools. So tell them to chill, and force your way to higher education.

they have heard about all the shooting there and every adult they talk to tells them annapolis is a really bad school

Shootings which occur in city schools such as Annapolis tend to be related to other criminal activities. Are you a criminal? If so, Annapolis might not be the place for you. Otherwise, I would like to know if the people your parents are talking to have worked in Annapolis or just heard stories like every one else.

I had to go to an out of my feeder school for fourth and fifth grade because all the kids and Mayo elem. had to go to Annapolis Middle while they rebuilt the school because my mom didn't want me going there

and my friends that did go there were saying that someone got arrested almost everyday

I don't normally believe rumors and such but the reputation isn't the best (I sincerly appologize if this offends anyone)
I'm not certain whats said about the high school though

I personaly want to hear the truth

umm i went to annap. middle for mayo and someone was [b]NOT[/b] getting arrested that much. it was like only 2 times if that

b/c fights break out and things happen but they could happen at any school you just hear it more at annap. b/c it already has a rep
